Wing’s next update is live!
Welcome to version 0.2.2, which brings a bunch of new content. Here’s an overview of the main updates:
- Expanded world: More than double the play area, now with secret and branching paths!
- Collectibles: Within the new area are hidden collectibles. Check out the main menu after collecting them for a fun surprise!
- Advanced flight mechanics: Utilize aerobatic stunts for more freedom of movement and speed — or just to show off!
- New title screen, including new music!
- A Linux build is now available
- A bunch of bug fixes, including a issue where the speedrun timer started early, an issue when moving between rooms didn’t transition properly, and an issue that cut your speed during room transitions
Since I posted Wing back in April, it gained a lot of support and attention, giving me hope that I could make a living as an indie dev. However, I haven’t found a stable path forward yet and I’m a bit scared to take the plunge into a career full of uncertainties. As such, I’ll be taking a short break from development to assess my best path forward; hopefully, I’ll find a way to support myself and my future family while doing what I love. Regardless of what happens, though, I sincerely thank you for all the support so far and hope you enjoy Wing!
